Afternoon at The Huntington

6:03 AM

If you ever attend The Huntington in San Marino, Calif., which I wholeheartedly recommend, you will fall in love as I did. Founded in 1919 by businessman Henry E. Huntington, the magical land is comprised of a library, art collection, botanical gardens and tea room.

Library: contains rare British and American books and manuscripts, like "Canterbury Tales" and a selection of Shakespeare's works

Art Collection: galleries composed of historical artwork, such as Thomas Gainsborough’s "Blue Boy"

Botanical Gardens: 120 acres of more than a dozen gardens that transport you across the globe, including the Japanese, Rose, Chinese, Australian, Jungle, Desert, Subtropical, Herb and Palm

Tea Room: traditional English afternoon tea complete with mini peanut butter and cranberry scones and a buffet of crustless finger sandwiches, salads, cheeses and decadent desserts
